Update: Doing Business with School Libraries The Original Post: A sales representative gave our library a written quote for an electronic database to be installed in our library for the next school year. Both parties (school and sales representative) agreed to the price and a purchase order was prepared and sent to the company. Last week, we received word that they wanted $2,500 more money. In all my years of experience I have never had a company not honor their written quote. Has this ever happened to you? What would you advise? Is this normal procedure? Update: I am happy to report that the sales representative and the in-house sales representative have decided to honor the written quote to us and a price correction will be offered next year. Thank you for all of your advice and support.
