SHARE: Student Library poem

Fellow Librarians -
I thought you all might enjoy reading the following poem written by one
of our ESL students (who is also one of our most enthusiastic library
users!)  Some of the grammar was modified by our ESL teacher, but the
flavor and meaning of the original remains intact! Enjoy!

Amusing, wise, knowledgeable, helpful;
The best way to picture my friend, the
------Library.
If I am a slender, green, seaweed,
You are a big, enriching, blue ocean to grow me,
If I am a tiny, early, weak grass,
You are the morning dew to mist me,
If I am a puny, pink, flower,
You are the one male flower power-butterfly,
If I am lacking sunshine,
And you are the warm, happy sun to enlighten me;
When I search for a report, a date, you inform me,
When I need a story, You are a good chronicler,
When I feel so foolish, you make me wise,
The success that has come to me, I couldn't without your help,
You are always my best friend and teacher
----A Wise Golden Treasury.
