I have never called the E books "easy" books. In my library they are
everybody books and that is explained to students beginning in K...that
everyone loves picture books, you are never too old for them. Teachers K -
6 use picture books to teach lessons. One of my favorite student reactions
occurs when I announce to a 5th or 6th grade class that today we will meet
in the everybody section...they cheer as they know that I will be reading to
them...so I think it depends philsophically how the E books are presented to
kids....if they are good for all, the students will continue to love them
even when they move on the fiction reading.
