Greetings to those of you still out there, Has anyone had the opportunity to work with a student teacher in their library? If so, how many years of experience did you have when you accepted the position of being a cooperating/supervising librarian? My reason for asking... My principal left a message this morning asking whether or not I would agree to have a student teacher (grad school student) for the first semester of next year. I am very, very hesitant to agree to this situation. I guess my main concern is that I've only had two and a half years of experience since grad school in 1998. There are 5 other librarians in my district that have much more experience than I do. In addition, my library is (what I like to call it) in "transition." By this I mean- the library was seldom used for a variety of reasons and I'm slowly turning that around. If you have any advice, please respond. I would appreciate it! Sincerely, Jamie Michaels, Librarian Wilson Middle, Erie PA =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
