Target: shelving Matt Christopher Series

Just received the latest in the Matt Christopher sports series, but
now, the text is by various authors. They are catalogued using the
author's last name. Any suggestions on how to keep the series
together? Should we use the F CHR call (even though incorrect) or
have kids learn all the additional authors? Once they find a series
they like, they usually head to the proper place for the particular
titles. Do any of you shelve your series separate from Dewey
location? TIA.
