I am amazed beyond belief. Within two hours I had two replies from Japanese media specialists and another one as well, with an offer to fax me the symbols!! Shizen is the word for nature in Japanese. It is written with two separate symbols. You can access 50 of the most popular kanji symbols and hear the words as they are said in Japanese if you go to http://www.japanese.about.com/b150kanji.htm Choose 50 popular kanji and it links to exactly the information I needed! This teacher will be so impressed!! I wish I'd known about this listserv when I took Reference!! :-) Carole Bierwiler, Media Specialist Fairway Elementary Miramar, FL 33023 CHBMedia@aol.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
