I have the same problem that Jeanna Dennis has with teachers and other adults in the library workroom but another situation has come up that really upsets me. The principal allows the library to be used for events such as fund raiser distributions, pictures, and after-school meetings (not counting faculty meetings) without any regard to my schedule, program, or what I am doing. This afternoon I had told some teachers that they could use the library computers to complete mandatory professional development that we had to read using a CD when a student walked in with food for a math meeting that had not even been mentioned to me first. I was required to change my schedule (or travel to classrooms) several weeks ago so that the PTA could use the library to distribute the fund raising materials. Then when I got back I had to try to find someone to remove the items that had not been picked up so that I could have classes. When I try to talk with the principal about it he tells me to be flexible and that the library is for everyone. I see it as a lack of respect for the library program. Does anyone else have this problem? ----------------------------------------------------- Madeline L. Buchanan Library Media Specialist W. J.
