I have had the privilege of setting up a brand new library for one of many
new schools in Memphis. Having never worked with automation, I have some
questions. We will not have AR this year. Our system is Winebago Spectrum
5. The books were processed with book pockets and cards because some
libraries are used for summer school. I see classes once a week for 30
min. - books will be due each week.

When a student checks out a book, what do I do with the borrower's card? - I
don't dare let them walk out the library with it... Right now, I have a
notebook set up by classes with student barcode labels for scanning. I have
seen some programs use folders for each student -- but that seems to work
best for AR schools. How do some of you do this? When do you process
check-in and check-out during a class period? How do you maintain order
while you are doing all this? I have a very full schedule - 42 classes a
week! Thanks for your suggestions...
