TARGET: FACING A CHALLENGED BOOK

To anyone facing a challenge:

* Immediately contact your state professional organization and ALA.  They
have great resources to help you through all the steps of a challenge.  To
say nothing of the great personal support they provide.
* If you don't have a policy in place to handle challenged books, get one in
place now.  Again, your state organization and/or ALA will provide helpful
information and resources.
*  Check with your school district.  There should be some sort of procedure
and support system there, also.
