I just read the hit . What fantastic ideas. I was thinking of reading the book the Candy Corn Contest by Patricia Reilly Giff and Betcha (its a Math Smart book sorry I think the author is Murray). I will have a jar of candy corn for the students to guess how many. Betcha is a book on estimation. The Candy Corn Contest takes place before Thanksgiving. The teacher has a contest to guess the number of candy corn in the jar. I also liked the sayings listed. I sometimes put treats in the teachers boxes to motivate them to schedule or bring their classes to the library. I used Tootsie Pops and labeled them "Pop by the Library". Thanks for the wonderful ideas.
