I wonder if that same teacher would have a problem if a student decided to
talk for 30 min. on their cell phone during their class time. Its amazing
how many teachers will blow their stack when a students does something, but
then turn around and do it themselves.

It seems that the problem is the behavior, not the technology. This teacher
has just used a modern alternative to being rude. Teachers who talk on the
land line phone, use the internet computers to search, or sit and pay their
bills (I've had all these happen just in the last month) are no better or
worse. In my building library is not teacher prep time, (and I don't get
any prep time.)
