Has anyone received unordered maps from First State Map & Globe Co. of Wilmington, DE? They claimed I approved a phone order on Aug. 26 and they shipped to me 2 weeks ago. I received the $200 worth of maps, but I didn't even have a working phone Aug. 26 due to remodeling. At first they insisted I had to have approved this, when I explained about the phone they started back pedaling and said they would send a UPS pick up slip. I threatened to keep the maps as an unsolicited gift. Later a higher up called me back assuring me they had been in business 20 years and this was just a simple mistake and they would really like the maps back. My take on it is this. If it is not a scam, I'll return the maps. If others have had this done to them, then I want to keep the maps to help force such unscrupulous companies to eat their loses. I want to be fair, so I am asking you for your experience. My business office reports three separate incidents in the last month of companies sending materials unordered and then trying to collect payments. Does anyone have other incidents to report to LM NET members so we can be on the look out?
