My son has a science project due and we are having
trouble finding materials. He wants to build a telescope
and we found plans for one in "The Young Astronomer" , a
DK book. The plans lead one to think that getting lenses for
this project is not a big deal, but NOT SO! I need to find a
lens with a 50mm focus and 35 mm diameter and a lens
with 1,000 mm focus with a 50mm diameter. The boo said
to try optical supply and school supply companies. I have
had no luck. Can you suggest a source for either lenses or
a Build your own telescope kit?
