Sports Ill for Kids/ad pg 31

Someone suggested doing a poll of students....
I gave 29 7th graders a piece of paper and showed them the ad from the Winter 
2002-03 Sports Illustrated For Kids pg 31.
Without talking to friends or neighbors they were to write what the ad was trying 
to say to them.
8 thought is was a no smoking ad (tobacco)
10 thought it was a generic anti-drug ad (say no to drugs)
11 thought it was a specific "don't do marijuana" ad.


I overheard one girl say the ad was from Seventeen so maybe it's in several 
magazines aimed at students.
