I have a teacher that would like to propose an idea that all of the = freshman students at both of our campus' would read the same book at the = same time. Along with the book, different activities would take place = including pen pals between the school, staging a student written play of = the book, creating art projects, etc. She is trying to incorporate = activities from across the curriculum. This activity would be made = possible by a class all freshman have to take called Freshman Focus. I = was wondering two things. 1. Has anyone ever done this before? If so, what was the overall = feeling on how it went? 2. What books do you think would be appropriate for this activity? I = have thought of Holes, Speak, Rules of the Road, Tangerine, Stargirl, = Confess-O-Rama, Whirligig, and Adventures of the Blue Avenger. Any feedback would be wonderful. Thank you in advance for your = assistance. Melissa Bell Librarian Bloom Trail High School Donald Croarkin Library 22331 S.
