A teacher asked if I knew any short stories similar to O. Henry's "Gift of the Magi," but in a modern version. I think she felt her special ed. 7th and 8th graders might not relate to the period details. I know such stories exist, but I blanked on specifics. Any suggestions? By the way, is anyone else corrupted by Monty Python, compelled to say "Maggie" instead of "Maj - I?"
