I encountered the same problem when I took over 3 years ago.  I haven't
really found a "source" for bios, but I use the Follett Titlewave
collection
development feature.  Plus I'm constantly reading reviews and then
purchasing items at our local Barnes & Noble.  We also have an odd
discount
store across from our school that carries an interesting variety of
books,
including new copyrights.  I've attached a list of what I've added the
past
two years (only 50 or so), but they've been well received.  The Penguin
Lives series have received mixed reviews, but I buy them all because the
kids really like them. . . short, informative, classy looking . . .
If you find a good source, please post a hit.
