Monica Hughes is indeed a Canadian author.  She has written many titles
that range from science fiction, fantasy to pure adventure.  Monica
lives in Edmonton Alberta.  Her books are well known and well read by
Canadian students.  I believe that you can get further information about
her through the Ontario Library Association's website:
www.accessola.com  if she does not have a link they will certainly
provide you with one.

Some other titles by Monica Hughes are:  The Golden Aquarians, Where
Have You Been Billy Boy?, Tomorrow City....these are just a few.  She is
quite prolific.
