GEN: Edited Amistad Video Available?

A teacher "assures" me that there is a version of
Steven Spielberg's _Amistad_ edited to give it a
rating of "PG".

My research shows only the Family Safe website, which
purchases the video for its patron, and then edits out
all the sex, nudity, profanity, what-have-you. Which
brings up the whole issue of copyrights, and
intellectual property, so I'm not going to mention
this site to the teacher.

Many schools received the original version of the film
as a gift, as we did _Schindler's List_. I recall that
the hoopla over the "R" rating at that time did not
dispose Spielberg to provide a bowdlerized version.

If its out there, please let me know.
