Hello! Currently, I am a Media Specialist in Vancouver, WA. and need a few = questions answered by my media brethern in Pittsburg. I have the MLIS degree from ALA accrediated Univ., my question is: Do = most districts require media Sp. to have the degree for a media position = or are they allowing teachers with 15 hours to receive the media endorsemen= t and move into positions w/ out the grad. degree?=20 Next, How about hiring practices...are local districts willing to hire = "veterans" with 20 years experience who still have many good years left to = go or are they hiring new graduates to save money? Finally, What's the MS supply like for the metro area? Jobs to be had? = Shortage? Thank-you in advance for your help, this is the only way someone from out = here can consider making a move to your fair city. Jim McGinnis Media Specialist Fruit Valley Elem.
