NYPL's 100 Books for Reading & Sharing 2002

I had the pleasure this morning of listening to the genial and charming
illustrator Jerry Pinkney give the Anne Carroll Moore lecture at NYPL. That
lecture has been given for decades to mark the release of NYPL's "Children's
Books - One Hundred Titles for Reading and Sharing" for 2002. The Library
produces this list every year, and it is given free at the Donnell Central
Children's Room while supplies last. For people outside the NYC area, they
sell the nifty little booklet for $3 plus mailing (mailing fees are 1-5 copies,
$1; 6-10 copies $1.25; larger orders mailing is billed). Checks are payable to
the Office of Branch Libraries, 455 Fifth Ave, New York, NY 10016.

I have no association with NYPL except as a patron, but this is an extremely
useful list (and it has a number of my personal favorites from this year on it,
like FIREBOAT and BECOMING JOE DiMAGGIO.)
