Am I the only one that notices an increase in library traffic on friday? It
seems like some of my teachers just decide to start the weekend early and
send the kids to the library. I do have a policy of only send three
students at a time from any one class, but it just seems on Friday there is
a steady stream of students from the beginning of class to the end. Reminds
me of the old adage "never buy a new car that was built on a Monday or
Friday"

Today, I've had the chance to observe a several classes--they moved a class
into the library for study hall (don't even ask why or tell me the arguments
of tying up the library for a study hall). Anyway, it has amazed me how
many of the students act as if they never been allowed to spend an extended
amount of time browsing the shelves. How many of us can remember spending
hours (I still do it at bookstores and yes, libraries) at our childhood
libraries just browsing the shelves? It such a shame that so many of the
youth today have missed out on this simple pleasure in life. But of course
I missed out on playing hours upon hours of Game Boy and other electronic
games. ;-)
Oh well have a great weekend, wait a minute its only Wednesday.
