Because I am the only librarian in Goose Lake, Iowa I have been dressing =
up as Mother Goose for Halloween. I thought it was appropriate for a =
grandmotherly type person to be Mother Goose and the children loved it. =
Friday after 26 years in this district I was notified that my continuing =
contract might not be renewed for next year. The only reason being given =
is financial cutbacks. It has been a blow becuase it was very unexpected. =
Fortunately, I have just met the requirements for early retirement in my =
state, but I am not being offered the same early retirement benefits as =
other teachers have when they retired. I really wanted to continue to =
work for several more years because I am only 55. I feel that after 26 =
years of service in this district and outstanding evaluations that I =
deserve to leave with honor, respect, and dignity. Please wish me luck =
and if you hear of an job opening in eastern Iowa or western Illinois =
please let me know. =20
