I realize this is off-topic but it will go thru. Our district =
administration is considering a policy which will eliminate classroom =
personal appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves, heaters, toaster =
ovens, radios, lamps, air conditioners, basically anything that plugs in =
and is not school property. They have said they will recognize medical =
needs.=20

They are citing rising energy costs, student safety, clutter in =
classrooms, fire codes. Teachers says it is a matter of convenience - =
short lunch times, working with students during lunch. =20

My question is do other school systems have a policy on such appliances =
in classrooms?
