DUCKLING, hatched on Monday.
I was interviewed on Maine Things Considered about it this
evening. Matthew Algeo and I had a lovely chat, and he did some very nice
editing of the piece, but I sure wish he'd left in the part where he
mentioned that adult writers should be glad that there are children's
writers because, after all, children's writers get kids hooked on
reading. And I jumped in and said, quite emphatically, "Well, children's
writers AND LIBRARIANS!" :>
So, I hope you'll all take a look at my new baby. And please visit my
