This year, I am organizing centers in my library around the Lewis and Clark
Exploration.

I have 8 centers with 3 -  4 students at each:
The centers use:

  The Thesaurus;
The Atlas and mapping;
Math problem;
French-English dictionary (online);
The Almanac;
Reading for facts about Seaman (the newfie);
Drawing a picture of Seaman;
Gathering Bibliographic information from books;

I have the fifth grade worksheets finished...now I have to create a set for
third and fourth grade.

My classes are 50 minutes each. I teach keyboarding for the first 15, then
the kids come into the library and do centers! They LOVE them! I created
centers last year for the book, The Phoenix and the Carpet by Nesbit.

I am going to put the worksheets into a booklet for each student to take
from center to center.

If you would like a copy of my finished 5th grade sheets, please contact
me offline, and if there is a lot of interest, I will post them on my
website for anyone to use.

Cheers,

Carolyn
