I am ready to begin my second year as elementary librarian and I'm wondering what some of you use for shelf markers. This past year I got paint sticks from Sherwin Williams, but they needed to be sanded and numerous kids got splinters from them. Many also split during the course of the year. Plus I had lots of problems with kids hitting each other with them or pretending they were swords. I don't have money for anything expensive, but I want something more than just craft sticks. I want something that will hold up for a while, too. Any ideas? Carol Good, Librarian Tyson-Schoener Elem.
