SEC: Novels heavy with mythology allusions

Oh wise ones,
My senior English teacher wants to find a British novel that is heavy =
with allusions to mythology.  He has Until We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis, =
but needs another suggestion.  I'm coming up blank.  ANY and all ideas =
appreciated.
