Target: Elementary Poetry

A high school teacher remembers reading a poem about Michael who had a
bicycle.   He outfitted it with everything imaginable, except a seat.
Anyone recognize this poem?   He thinks it might have been in an anthology
used in the Chicago Public Schools.   Thanks very much.
