Dan and others, I have a slightly different view on this and similar postings. Is it important that the story is true or fictional or that it has been on the 'net and has mutated into several forms? This is my 30th year in education and one thing never ceases to amaze me. That one thing is how as educators we touch peoples lives on a daily basis. It could be a lesson taught, a kind word or even the that the purpose of imposed discipline was realized. It may take many years for us to find out that we did have a positive impact and many times, what was routine or insignificant to us, was grasped by our students to be remembered and embraced. I guess it depends on if we view the glass is half full, half empty or as a piece of fine Waterford crystal.
