I guess Disney movies tend to offend many people for many reasons. I attended a workshop on evaluating materials for children from a Native American perspective....the stereotypes portrayed in "Peter Pan" are extremely offensive, also. I remember watching it and thinking how charming it was, until I started examining it through eyes other than mine. We can't claim it is a result of the times, as both "Pocahontas" and "Aladdin" also were criticized for their demeaning caricatures, and they are fairly recent movies.
