Yes, I do question it and I change it for new books. Commercial cataloging
isn't always correct. I looked this up in the references I use when
cataloging before I sent my original reply. They specifically stated that
you do not use an editor as a Main Entry. I don't have the books at home,
but I can send the bib information on Monday if you'd like. (More easy MARC
by _________ and Follet's MARC guide are two of them.)

To answer Joyce's question: I do change books already in the collection when
they come to my attention, but I haven't gone looking for them to fix in a
large batch.

comes with a 100 tag, or the Cataloging in Publication states that
