I am sure that different schools and different levels have particular
needs, but as I look around my media center and see a teacher and class
in the lab, all fifty computers in the main area occupied with students
desperate to complete last minute tasks, 4 students in the periodical
room doing a video interview, and another 10 to 12 working on various
projects at tables, I am content.
We have 2 more days of school left. We do not close, nor do we stay
later. We have one prep day after the students leave as do teachers.
We did our inventory in April (while open). This has given us plenty of
time to look at our losses from last year and add them to orders that
will go in in the fall.
We have time to round up stray books from students, make calls home,
shelve, and make plans for next year.
We are relaxed, and our students, staff and administration are happy.
