I'd recommend Crow Lake-- don't have the author's name here but it is
beautifully written and a compelling story. Believe it is a first novel
hope there is much more to come from an author who can really paint
pictures. Other good reads Perri O' Shaughnessy's books Unfit to
Practice, Move to Suppress, Writ of Execution ( you get the idea-
courtroom lawyer stuff with a fiesty heroine, anything by Mary Higgins
Clark. I'd also recommend a series of mysteries by Camille Minichino
based on the periodic table ( Hydrogen, Helium, Lithium, Boric Acid
Murders-- the heroine is a slighty overweight retired physicist who is
also falling in love rather awkwardly. You learn a little about science
as a bonus but it is painless ( she is not much of a library lover
however, but she is learning-- last murder takes place in a library
Last light hearted suggestion for any of you who haven't read it, try
Romeo and Juliette-- a take off on the classic of two slightly older than
middle age florists who began to fall in love much to the horror ( and
threats ) of their adult children . It's sweet and funny.
