TEK HELP: Powerpoint & saving CD track

I made a powerpoint for a friend who retired and want to record it to a
digital video for her to have a copy to show her family.  The problem is that for
the life of me I cannot figure out how to insert the track of music to play
from a CD.  I have MS Powerpoint 2000 and have followed the HELP instructions as
best as I can figure.  I inserted the music icon onto the first slide and
believe I followed all instructions on what to do, but the music never comes up.
Someone once told me that I could copy the track I need to my desktop and
insert it, but have yet to figure out how to get that done too.

Any help will greatly be appreciated.
