Hello,
Like many other respondents, I do not see a problem with students
studying in a bookstore's coffee shop area. I have been taking up a seat in
a library or a bookstore most of my life! And for most of my life I did not
have the $ to purchase books either. Also, since I grew up in a college
town with an excessive number of bars and too much student drinking, I
respect the students who *are* finding a study niche.
You might try looking in the children's area for seating. There are
usually several tables & chairs there, too.
