LM_NETTERS,
I have been getting this email or a reasonable facsimile for at least three years
and maybe even longer...to my school email address as well as to my home email
account. However, I have never received one to this email account. This is quite a
scam! The only thing that changes is the name of the person who sends the email
and the country that person is from. However, the constant is that there is always
a large sum of money...usually hidden somewhere or secreted out of another
country...and you are the chosen one with whom the sender of the email is willing
to share the money. The letters are usually written in rather broken English and
all the emails I have received want you to reply with your bank aaccount number.
I have used this email with my classes at school to help prove the point that what
appears to be too good to be true usually is!
Sometimes there is quite a lapse between receipt of these emails while other times
I receive several a day. Maybe it depends on how desperate they are for other's
money!
Where or how they get the addresses is a question I can't answer! I belong to no
lists using my home email account. I guess they have their scrupulous ways!
