The other day I happened to notice some >>> at the top of Google's page so I checked them out to find that these are search tools that Google is still working on. One of the searches gives you a hit and then three comments or reviews by others of the site. I was curious to see how they would handle the hoax sites that we use so often so I search for the MLKing site (yes the first comment tells you what an insidious misleading site this is) If they don't have three comments from outside they will post something from the author of the page. My next search was for the DHMO page. While poking around in the links there I found this site which I thought might be of interest. http://www.lhup.edu/~dsimanek/home.htm This page has links to science, pseudoscience, education and humor about science. According to the author a Phd in Physics: We can't claim to fully understand what science is until we know what it is not. The science/pseudoscience interface can help us understand both the strengths and the self-imposed constraints of science. Science is a self-correcting processes, continually weeding out errors of thought and errors of methodology, thereby narrowing the region where truth may reside. While science claims no absolute truths, it has accumulated a larger body of reliable and testable understanding of nature than any other method of human inquiry. This is really an incredible site which has a mix of humor and information. You need to know something about science to understand the "museum of unworkable devices'' "myths and mysteries of science" Darlene Yasick Media Specialist Hopkins (MI) High School lib027yas@global.net =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
