Perhaps the irony in the NYC Public Library becoming the "safe haven" for
the characters in the movie is that IF anyone had spent more time in the
library READING or doing research about what causes "global warming"-- or
any of the natural disasters that occurred in the movie-- then maybe none of
it would have happened in the first place.....

...but then that's just my "over-evaluation" of the plot.  Hollywood would
have never thought to use such shadowing of the plot to show viewers the
answer to life's problems--or even the "value of public libraries" to
society's traumatic situations!   ;)
