Because of overcrowding, our teacher's copy room, or "Document Center" as it's called here, is going to be used for classroom space. An assistant pricipal wants to move a large copier-collater into a corner of the library and I know that the constant noise will become a big problem. However, he is willing to work with me to find a solution. So, have any of you had this problem? Is there a heavy-use copier that you've found that's a bit quieter than the rest? Is there a bubble designed to mask the sound? Any helpful hints will be appreciated. This is supposed to be a temporary solution, maybe for a year, so we're trying to avoid erecting permanent walls within the library. From various conversations I've had with other librarians, it seems that many administrators are looking to grab space from their libraries to alleviate over-crowed situations.
