Dear LM-Netters, I am begining to look at the requirements for National Certification. I can see where an elementary teacher would be able to tape lessons and submit lesson plans but what about those of us in High School? In my (limited) experience, the teachers are ceating the lessons. At most I help kids navigate the book stacks. On a rare occasion I have done some research for a teacher and maybe a brief overview on evaluating web sites. My main role this year has been as a study Hall proctor. I am hoping that I can present a convincing case to my principal that I am being underutilized by showing him the portfolio requirements. Question: What lessons did you video tape to include in your portfolio for National Certification? What types of projects did you submit as examples of student work? What kinds of collaborations did you have and how did you convince teachers it was important? How can I convince my Principal that I am more than a Study Hall Proctor?!
