Linda's suggestions were excellent and these additions from Jo are great too. I do want to caution though some publishing companies do charge shipping-- for example Harcourt does charge shipping (their representative suggests figuring about 7%) plus all returns for all schools must be returned at the school's expense. So sometimes it is nearly as profitable to support a local book dealer and ask them to do the paperwork and supply the books on a "bookfair" type basis -- the usually discount in such a situation is 20%. For some additional suggestions those planning an author visit may wish to use the links on the author visit resource page at http://www.mcelmeel.com/bookauthor/visitresources.html -- I think you will find some helpful links to even more suggestions.
