We are all aware of the ALA's stance on labeling and censorship. =
However, labels provide a degree of service for customers and students =
who need help finding their favorite genre or topics. Personally, I =
feel labeling provides an advantage for elementary students.

In my research I am finding little written on the subject of labeling =
but it seems to be either taboo or 100% supported by librarians with =
whom I have spoken. =20

I am a student in Library Science and need to write a provocative issues =
paper on this subject. If you don't mind, please email me directly, =
(mtripp@kc.rr.com), with any comments you may have including your =
support or disagreement with the ALA. Do you use labeling for some =
sections of the library, for AR books, magazines only etc. or are you =
the type of librarian that supports the ALA in their views of labeling =
as censorship???

Thank you in advance for your assistance!
