Okay, so maybe I'm way off base, but I think we're talking about two
different types of labeling here. I mean, I don't think that labeling
intended to assist patrons in finding materials they are looking for is
the same as labeling intended to alert patrons that they may find
something objectionable. I'm fairly certain that ALA's anti-labeling
stance applies only to the second kind. I just don't see how labeling for
Accelerated Reader or library ownership or genre categorization could be
opposed by ALA. Even a spine label is a type of labeling....
What do others think?

At any rate, I will continue to label for AR, genre, and call number! :)
