Our new district curriculum coordinator would like the librarians to devise suggested summer reading lists for grades K-12. We have seen many existing ones upon which to base ours, but were wondering what is done in the fall by the teachers to check comprehension of the books the students have read. Are there forms in place in your district for all to follow or do the teachers do their own thing? We would also like to know approximately how many titles are listed for each level and if your district provides the books or just expects the students to purchase them or use the public library. We will share these lists with the town library once we have created them. I am interested in answers from all grade levels. Please reply privately. I will post a hit if requested. Thank you.
