One of my teachers (one of those who seldom comes to me for anything) came to ask 
me if I could find the author and/or book for a short story called "The Weapon".  
He says it is about a man who is designing a weapon for the government.  One day 
the scientist is approached by a stranger who tries to dissuade him from giving the 
weapon to the government.  The scientist tells the man that what the government 
uses the weapon for, etc is not his responsibility .  The stranger gives the man's 
(retarded?) son a gun and tells the scientist that it's not the stranger's fault if 
the young man kills someone.  Sound familiar oh, great collective brain?  Author?  
Title of short story collection?  Ideas where I could get a copy?  Thanks!  Debbie
