I have also experienced the problem of students who will turn to computers regardless of their inquiry. This August I prepared an Olympics Trivia Contest sheet that asked very specific questions about the Olympics. I asked the students in middle school to answer the questions with any resource in the Library. They needed to note their source and the time it took them to answer all the questions. The first, second, and third fastest students who correctly answered the trivia questions received gold, silver, and bronze medals respectively. As it turned out, most of the students who finished first used the encyclopedia and almanac . This was a very valuable lesson.
