Hi everyone! I am starting to see problems with some of my 2nd and 3rd = grade AG students and the books they are wanting to check out. Some of = these students have reading levels that are on the 4th and 5th grade = reading levels, but I am finding that the content of some of the books on = these levels are too mature for them. Yesteday I had a 3rd grader return = "The Watsons Go to Birmingham" and she was very upset that this book had = some profanity in it. I have not read this book yet, but I am in the = process of reading it. This is a 5th grade level book and I'm sure the = content is fine for my 5th graders (several teachers read this book to = their classes). I have had similar problems with other books. Has anyone = else come across this problem and what do you do about it?
