The Ohio Writing Project at Miami University has asked my advice regarding an author visit. They are conducting a workshop on YA historical fiction. The audience will be adult teachers/writers, so the criteria for selection will be somewhat different than for a typical school author visit. They are looking for an accomplished author whose writing they admire. Can anyone suggest authors for this purpose? I've heard Chris Collier (My Brother Sam is Dead) speak, and he was very interesting. Anybody heard Ann Rinaldi speak? Carol Matas? Thanks in advance for your help.
