We also use the Sony Mavica digital cameras for student / faculty use. Like Reggie
mentioned they are inexpensive and are relatively easy to use. They don't require
any hook-ups (connections, wires, etc. that can get lost) and most anyone can use
them without needing additional assistance.

We haven't had any stolen but we do have them checked out for long periods of time.
Right now we have three for our high school (and probably need more). I would
recommend them if you want a "work-horse" camera for students / faculty at a
reasonable price.

We like the Sony Mavica digitals. They're less than $200 around here, I
believe. They're bulky, which the kids don't care for, but they use a
standard floppy disk which is very nice when multiple users are involved.
They can just swap the disks in and out depending on need. Because they're
NOT small and stylish, we've never had one stolen!

Subject: Digital camera for student use

Our school would like to purchase some very inexpensive cameras for student
use. Can you give us any recommendations?
